| Agarita Hollow Form
This piece of Agarita has a beautiful contrast between the yellow of the wood and the rich browns of the root ball.
Agarita is a rare wood that can only be found in South West Texas. It is actually a wild shrub that grows along fence lines and in open fields.
It has very long sharp thorns and is quite difficult to harvest the root ball, which is the part used in woodturning. The color is a beautiful golden yellow with markings that often look like fireworks. Few woodturners will even work with Agarita because it is quite difficult to keep in one piece due to it's many burled holes which also add to the character of the finished work.
